Firmware Flashing Guide

Please read this section before compiling and flashing the firmware!!!

Notes

• D5 units manufactured after September 1, 2024 come pre-flashed with Katapult firmware
• Once the BL is flashed once, there is no need to flash the BL again (D5's BL is Katapult firmware)
• BL is only a bootloader used to boot the Katapult firmware, you still need to flash the Klipper firmware

Determine the Firmware You Need

• Please note that you only need to flash one of the firmware options

• D5 can connect to the host computer using two methods
• USB Firmware (Most Common)
  • Advantage: Reliable and stable communication
  • Disadvantage: If multiple USB devices are connected, it may affect data transfer
• USB Bridging Firmware (Commonly used when using a CAN tool board)
  • Advantage: Multiple devices can be connected without occupying a USB port
  • Disadvantage: May cause errors such as homing timeout when used together with KlipperScreen
