How to Determine Which Firmware You Need

Caution
  • Note: Since the C8 is an integrated upper and lower computer motherboard, unless you are using a CAN tool board, please be sure to select USB firmware!!!
  • When using a CAN tool board, please be sure to select CAN Bridge firmware
  • USB Firmware
    • Advantages: The most commonly used connection method in 3D printers, reliable and stable communication
    • Disadvantages: Multiple USB devices may affect data transmission
  • USB Bridge Firmware
    • Advantages: Allows simultaneous connection of multiple devices without occupying USB ports. This firmware is only required when using a CAN tool board
    • Disadvantages: The first compilation and flashing of the firmware may be more troublesome.

DIP Switch Instructions

Tip

The FLY C8 connects to the upper computer via DIP switches. Improper positioning of the switches will prevent normal operation.

Important Note

Please note that the DIP switches must be set to the specified positions to properly connect to the upper computer.

Connecting to the Onboard Upper Computer

  • Turn DIP switches 1 and 2 to the right to connect the lower computer to the upper computer via the built-in USB.
  • Turn DIP switches 3 and 4 to the left; otherwise, it will affect the connection between the lower and upper computers.

  • After setting the DIP switches according to this method, the lower USB port will be occupied by the lower computer. Do not connect other devices.

Connecting to an External Upper Computer

  • Turn DIP switches 3 and 4 to the right to connect the lower computer to the upper computer via the built-in USB.
  • Turn DIP switches 1 and 2 to the left; otherwise, it will affect the connection between the lower and upper computers.
