Notes
  • D8 comes pre-programmed with Katapult firmware

Firmware Burning Instructions

Important Notes
  • The mainboard firmware must be burned through Katapult for Klipper
  • If you are certain the mainboard has already been programmed with Katapult, there is no need to burn the Katapult firmware at the end
  • You can quickly press the reset button twice and see if an LED starts blinking on the mainboard. If it does, it means the mainboard has entered the Katapult firmware
  • If you need to use the RS232 function, the mainboard does not need to be programmed, but the toolboard needs to be programmed with the RS232 firmware

How to determine which firmware you need

tip
  • Please note that you only need to program one type of firmware
  • D8 can connect to the host computer in the following ways
  • USB Firmware
    • Advantages: Reliable and stable communication
    • Disadvantages: May affect data transmission if there are multiple USB devices
  • USB Bridge Firmware
    • Advantages: Can connect multiple devices without occupying the USB port
    • Disadvantages: May cause errors such as homing timeout when used together with KlipperScreen.
