Introduction

LLL Buffer Usage

The LLL Filament Buffer is a device specifically designed for remote filament feeding in 3D printers, aiming to simplify the loading and unloading of consumables. This buffer is equipped with two buttons for feeding and retracting, allowing users to perform electric feeding and retraction operations.

Buffer Function:

Note
  • The N20 motor has a lifespan of approximately 200 hours.
  • The motor needs to be replaced when it fails to operate.

When the extruder of a 3D printer feeds filament, if it pulls on the remote filament spool, the buffer detects this action and automatically feeds a segment of filament toward the hotend. Each time pulling occurs, the buffer repeats this feeding operation. This effectively reduces the pulling force exerted by the extruder on the filament, maintains stable thrust from the extruder, and thereby improves the stability of print quality.

Filament Runout Detection Function:

The buffer has a built-in filament runout detector. When it detects that there is no filament in the buffer, it sends a signal to the 3D printer to pause printing. To use this function, the signal pin must be connected, and the 3D printer's configuration must be modified. The buffer function, however, can be used directly without any configuration changes.

Through the above functional design, the LLL Filament Buffer not only simplifies filament handling but also enhances the stability of the 3D printing process and improves print quality.

  • Please note that the functions can only be used after the filament is loaded; otherwise, the motor can only be controlled via the buttons.
